Letter to the Editor from an Irate Israeli
Preface:
I realize that the economy is imploding – as we are realizing that wealth is the product of production; not the result of tricky games that are played with paper notes. Nevertheless, it has been revealed that Israel has further isolated the Gaza Stript by strengthening its embargo over the besieged territory, preventing the Gaza Stript from receiving forms of humaniotarian aid. This, of course, is a clear violation of the stipulations iterated in the Geneva Convention, to which, ironically, Israel of all nations refuses to pay deference. It is for this reason that I am publicizing our response to a letter addressed to the editor written by an Israeli, who took exception with one of our articles criticizing the treatment of Palestinians by the Israelis. Unfortunately, the author of the letter failed to indicate what specific article he was addressing.
Message:
To the Editor:
I got an email today about the fact that the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it ‘offended’ the Muslim population which claims it never occurred.
Personally, I think the holocaust should not be a topic on own rather than a mere introduction to the wrong-doings human do in the world, but nevertheless I found the reason UK made its decision as very disturbing. What if tomorrow, The Muslim population will be offended by mentioning that 9/11 was done by Muslims?
Fact is, that as much as the Nazis hated jews, they killed a whole bunch of other ethnic groups as well, such as homosexuals, gypsies and I’m quite sure they didn’t fond any towel-headed people as well. So when looking for how many Muslims did in fact die in the holocaust, I came across your article “How many Muslims does it take to Equal an Israeli Jew?”I wanted to ask you what gives you the right to judge Israel, who prefers the lives of its own citizens over the lives of the enemy? Do you know how many innocent Iraqis and Afghanistan died as a direct result of 9/11 and the wars that followed it? Don’t you feel the hypocrisy complaining about Israel, which provides the Gaza strip with Food, Fuel and electricity while they keep bombing the Israeli city Shderot, while you keep foreign citizens, who never had the
right to defend themselves, as prisoners in Guantanamo?
What gives U.S.A the right to intervene with the domestic problems of other nations, such as Iraq or Israel?
Do you even know what you’re talking about or I just you trying to create hate?
Oded Sharon
Our Response:
Hi,
I think we are in agreement. I would fully support America not intervening in the affairs of Israel. This would included cutting off all foreign aid and any other form of assistance until Israel has fully complied with all UN mandates. Israel supplies the Gaza Strip with food because they have essentially ghettoized the Gaza Strip. You might agree with your government’s destruction of Palestinian homes under pretenses that they somehow violate construction codes. I do not, and when i see blatant imperialism, i call it out, whether we are talking about Israel or the United States. If you read the commentary we have made in respect to America’s militaristic foreign policy, we are equally as critical. We see American support of Israel as symptomatic of the same neoconservative agenda that was responsible for the two disastrous foreign wars in which the US in now absorbed.
Best Regards,
Russell Cole
